TEHRAN, Mar. 6 (Mehr News Agency) -- The world's longest pantomime is to be performed on May 10 at Tehran's Niavaran Cultural Center, the Persian service of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported on Monday.
The pantomime play, which will be directed by Bahram Reihani, is scheduled to begin at sunrise and finish at sunset.
"I intend to register the play with the Guinness Book of World Records," Reihani said.
"Since pantomime performance requires great physical energy, a team of medical doctors will be on hand to provide the actors with medical assistance, if necessary," he added.
He explained that the play has been written in praise of life, beauty, and love of humanity.
"The human soul desires pure beauty, and art is the best medium with which to present beauty to mankind," he opined.
Reihani also said that pantomime is one of the most important types of performance.
