Formation of the Iranian Scholarship Foundation

Menlo Park, CA – March 6, 2006 – The Iranian Scholarship Foundation (ISF) has formally launched its activities today.


“For the past six years we have been providing 74 scholarships for a total of $520,000 to the brightest Iranian-American youths who have been in need of financial help” said Azadeh Hariri the founder and the chair of the board of trustees of the Iranian Scholarship Foundation. She added “I am pleased to announce the formation of an all volunteer based Iranian Scholarship Foundation (ISF) in order to be able to expand our scholarship programs, and to establish an endowment to make sure the Iranian Scholarship program will exist for future generations of Iranian-American youth. The ISF will concentrate on providing scholarships to Iranian-American students.  The ISF will also welcome individuals who wish to establish scholarship funds under their own names.”


Mrs. Azadeh Hariri founded the IFWC Iranian Youth Scholarship Fund in the spring of 2000.  The goals of the Iranian Youth Scholarship Fund were to provide a meaningful scholarship to Iranian-American Youth who were in need of financial help.


Azadeh Hariri, said “ The Undergraduate Scholarship Fund of the ISF is similar to the  program which is known as the Iranian Youth Scholarship. The Undergraduate Scholarship Fund provides need base scholarships of up to $10,000 to undergraduate students with GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students must be in need of financial help.” She added” I would like to thank Mrs. Fariba Nejat, Mrs. Fay Ehsan and all the members of the Iranian Federated Women’s Club (IFWC) for all their help during past 6 years in running the Iranian Youth Scholarship Fund ”.


About the Iranian Scholarship Foundation


The Iranian Scholarship Foundation was formed in June 2005 to focus on providing scholarships to Iranian American students. These undergraduate scholarships are open to Iranian youth who are accepted into undergraduate programs of a four-year college in the United States and are in need of financial assistance. These students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average to receive up to $10,000.00 per year.   The Iranian Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit 501C-3 registered organization with the IRS and the State of California.  All donations to the Iranian Scholarship Foundation are tax deductible.  The ISF has no paid employees and is a fully volunteer organization.
