Tehran, March 12, IRNA-Two earthquakes measuring 3.6 and 4.6 on the Richter scale jolted the cities of Bandar Abbas and Farghan in the southern province of Hormuzgan in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the 3.6-degree quake in Bandar Abbas occurred at 00:40 hours local time (2110 GMT Saturday).
The tremor was felt in an area measuring 56.82 degrees in longitude and 27.45 degrees in latitude, the report added.
Moreover, the 4.6-degree quake in Farghan occurred at 01:03 hours local time (2133 GMT Saturday).
The quake was felt in an area measuring 56.69 degrees in longitude and 28.11 degrees in latitude, said the base.
There have been no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quakes.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
