Tehran, March 15, IRNA-Two memoranda of agreement were signed between the representatives of Small Grants Program of Global Environmental Facilities in the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-GEF/SGP) and two non-governmental organizations (NGO)s.
A report released by the United Nations Information Center in Tehran (UNIC) on Wednesday said that UNDP Resident Representative in Iran Knut Ostby, National Project Director of the Conservation of Asiatic Cheetah Houshang Ziaie and representatives of the two NGOs were present in the signing ceremony.
The objectives of these two projects are to train and increase awareness of local communities concerning the conservation of Asiatic cheetah in the two selected biospheres, namely Khartouran and Bafq as well as improving relations with environment guards of the Department of Environment, which is involved in the specified project.
In continuation of the two projects, another one aiming to build up the capacity of the involved parties and introduce management methods through people's participation in the workshops currently under execution.
