Tehran, March 25, IRNA-Three successive earthquakes measuring 6.0, 3.8 and 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted the city of Fin and nearby villages in the southern province of Hormuzgan on Saturday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the 6.0-degree quake occurred at 10:58 hours local time (07:28 GMT).
The tremor was felt in an area measuring 55.81 degrees in longitude and 27.56 degrees in latitude, the report added.
The second quake, measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale, occurred at 11:50 hours local time (08:20 GMT).
The quake was felt in an area measuring 55.49 degrees in longitude and 27.41 degrees in latitude.
The third quake, measuring 4.8 degrees, occurred at 12:56 hours local time (08:56 GMT) and was felt in an area measuring 55.36 degrees in longitude and 27.38 degrees in latitude.
There have been no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quakes.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
