Bulgarian cargo plane crashes on suburbs of Tehran

Tehran, March 28, IRNA-A Bulgarian cargo plane Antonov crashed on suburbs of Tehran. Four crew members from the total 12 were injured or suffered burns.

The plane took off from Payam private airport and crashed between Karaj and Savoj Bolagh on suburbs of Tehran.

Collision of the plane with a group of birds may be the reason for the crash, director of Pubic Relations Office of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization Reza Jaafarzadeh said.

He said that a team of experts have been dispatched to the area to determine the reason for the crash.

"Fortunately, only four crew members were injured and there is no loss of life," a police office in the area told IRNA.
