TEHRAN, May 9 (Mehr News Agency) -- Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said here on Tuesday that Tehran will open its doors to foreign investors. "We will hold another meeting with foreign investors in July," he said at a gathering on investment opportunities in urban areas.
"Domestic investors will be given priority," the mayor added.
The Majlis can improve investment policy for Tehran by passing the necessary laws and regulations, he pointed out.
He went on to say that the municipality intends to prevent capital flight and use local investment in the best possible way.
"Tehran is one of the wealthiest cities in the world, but it has failed to take advantage of the opportunities and available capital in a proper way," he said.
He also urged all investors to work together in efforts to attract dormant urban capital.
