President Ahmadinejad to send another letter: Persian daily

Tehran, May 17, IRNA-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad intends to write another letter but it will not be for a political figure, "informed sources" were quoted on Wednesday.

The Persian-language daily, Tosse'e, quoted the sources as saying Ahmadinejad's second letter is expected to be sent next week.

According to the daily, the president, in an April 24 interview, said that he "will again send messages to leaders of certain world powers calling their attention to the state of the world and inviting them to imbibe the message of the Divine Prophets which happens to be also the motto of Iranians in the current year (1385)."

The current Iranian year has been designated Year of the Great Prophet Mohammad.

President Ahmadinejad reminded that the Prophet's (PBUH) message was also a call for peace and tranquility to rule the world, the daily added.

It said that President Ahmadinejad had decided he would continue sending messages until he achieves his objective.

Iran denies news in Turkish daily

Tehran, May 17, IRNA-An informed source at the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday denied a news story published by the Turkish daily `Aksham' on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's confidential message to his American counterpart, George W Bush.

Aksham on Tuesday reported that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would convey President Ahmadinejad's message to Bush.

Ahmadinejad and Erdogan held meetings on the sidelines of the 9th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Baku and the summit of eight large developing Muslim countries, known as the D-8, in Indonesia's Baku.

"The news published by Aksham daily was unfounded and a lie.

Ahmadinejad sent no secret message to the US president except his letter, the text of which had been widely covered by the international media," the source said.
