Iranian composer Tjeknavorian to conduct orchestras at Persepolis

TEHRAN, May 27 (Mehr News Agency) - Iranian composer Loris Tjeknavorian plans to conduct concerts at Persepolis in the southern capital Shiraz, the student news agency (ISNA) reported here Saturday.

Tjeknavorian is currently conducting an orchestra at the first Tehran Music Festival for Peace, which is underway at the Interior Ministry's Grand Hall until Sunday.

"We will start another festival in Shiraz after it (Tehran festival)," the composer said.

He called for promoting peace all around the world through any means and language.

"I will compose a piece of music if Iran makes success in the 2006 World Cup in Germany," he vowed.

He believes all Iranians should try to represent Iran's high status in any field so that the world recognizes Iran as a civilized country.

"Iranians should not allow some certain countries to depict Iran as they like.

"I'm glad that Tehran Music Festival for Peace has been warmly welcomed by people."
