TEHRAN, Nov.03 (ISNA)-The world space week which was postponed due to the holy month of Ramadan in Islamic countries, will now be held from November 6-12 with the theme of 'Space for Saving Life' and natural disasters in Iran.
"The world space week which is founded by the UN is internationally observed in the October 4-10 period in order to increase public awareness and generate the peaceful culture of space technology in the path of development and welfare," stated Iran's chief of space organization public relations, Navid Maghsoudi.
"Since the event coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, we have made arrangements with the UN to observe the space week in the November 6-12 period," he added.
"Monday, Nov.6 is named as space and satellite communications day, Tuesday, Nov.7 is named as space, education and research day, Wednesday, Nov.8 is named as space and weather forecast day, Thursday,Nov.9 is titled as space, education and medicine, Friday, Nov.10 is named as space and astronomy, November 11th, Saturday is titled as space and natural disasters management and the 12th of November, Sunday is dedicated to space and sustainable development day; and on each specific day special meetings and programs are to be performed with the cooperation of related ministries and organizations," he concluded.
