"Tehran is against production, proliferation, stockpiling, and testing of nuclear weapons," the Iranian top diplomat told Xavier de Roux, the visiting chairman of the French-Iranian parliamentary friendship group.
Iran is at loggerheads with the United States and certain European states over its nuclear program. The West has called on Iran to suspend its rightful nuclear enrichment activities. However, Iran has rejected the call, saying as a signatory to the NPT it has right to enrich uranium for peaceful uses.
Mottaki said a serious determination is needed to expand political, cultural, and economic relations between Iran and France.
"The two counties have considerable potentials for a more developed ties" he underlined.
The minister called France an important partner of Iran in European Union.
He said the terrorist Mojahideen Khalq Organization (MKO) is attempting to harm the relations of Iran and France.
MKO has been branded as a terrorist organization in the EU. However, some EU members have hosted meetings with the MKO leader Maryam Rajavi.
"There is nothing such as a good or bad terrorist in the world," the minister insisted.
