Iran-Germany sign 450 million Euros locomotive contract

TEHRAN, Nov.14 (ISNA)-Iran's greatest locomotive contract was signed with Germany. This contract provides a chance to enhance Iran's locomotives up to 50 percent and also increases the capacity of passenger transportation up to 100 percent.

"This contract is a great leap in the enhancement of the transportation system and supply of the necessary services to the public in the railway area," informed the director of management committee of Mapna Company, Mousa Rafan.

This project is valued as much as 450 million Euros, out of which 300 million Euros is dedicated to the German side, the Siemens Company, and 150 million Euros is for the benefit to the Iranian side.

This contract is said to be the greatest locomotive project in Iran's transportation industry.
