TEHRAN, Nov. 26 (Mehr News Agency) - "Although women are pioneers in education more than men, their presence in the management sphere of the society is weak. This causes great problems for the future of our society," said Tehran Mayor Mohammad Qalibaf here Friday at the inauguration ceremony for two multipurpose sheds.

While women constitute half of our population, their presence and effectiveness in different fields of the society is not comparable with men, he stipulated. "However, in any field that men and women are provided with the same opportunities and facilities, women have acted more efficient that men."

Stressing on the opening of 90 sports centers for the women as a great step toward making women healthier, Qalibaf noted that nothing should restrict women's physical activity, therefore the government should provide facilities for the women sports and activities.

The health of women brings pleasure for them and thus for their family and this consequently enlivens the society, he maintained.

The multipurpose sheds, which have been constructed for times of crisis and natural disasters, are utilized at other times for 14 purposes, one of which is for women's sports activities, Qalibaf said.
