Niki Karimi leaves for U.S. to receive award

TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iranian actress and filmmaker Niki Karimi left Tehran for the United States today to receive the ILEX Award of the 13th Boston Festival of Films and Music from Iran on December 3, which is the last day of the event (see The Thirteenth Annual Boston Festival of Films from Iran)

She will be awarded for her "A Few Days Later" and "One Night", which were screened during the ILEX Foundation-sponsored festival at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

"A Few Days Later" is currently on screen in several theaters in Houston, Boston, and Washington.

Last year Tahimneh Milani won the award for "Unwanted Woman" (also known as "Extra Wife").

A number of other Iranian films such as "Men at Work", "Five", "A Little Kiss", "Mainline", "Stray Dogs", "Scream of the Ants", "The Weeping Willow", "Fish Fall in Love", and "Chaharshanbeh-Suri" (also known as "Fireworks Wednesday") are on the bill of the ongoing festival.
