Dubai, Nov 27, IRNA-President of Islamic Republic of Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Masoud Khatami said on Monday that the society has started construction of two hospitals in Iraqi holy cities of Karbala and Najaf and at the same time is making preparations to build two clinics in Gaza Strip.
During a ceremony celebrating 36th anniversary of establishment of Iranian hospital in Dubai, he praised the hospital's former director, Asghar Farshad, and added Iran Red Crescent Society had established other 12 clinical centers in some African countries, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Referring to operations of three Iranian hospitals in Lebanon, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), he stated that they have received a large number of petitions from different countries for setting up new clinical centers due to the high quality of medical services being rendered in the clinical centers being run under Iran Red Crescent Society.
Khatami added that the Iranian hospital in Dubai had performed positively during its 36 years of operation and attracted patients with different nationalities inside UAE and the neighboring countries.
Referring to the services provided by Asghar Farshad, the former director of Iranian hospital in Dubai, he said that Farshad had shared all his experience with the physicians and the practitioners during his term in office and spared no efforts to upgrade quality of the services.
In a verdict, head of Iran Red Crescent Population appointed Hamidreza Farshchi as the new director of the Iranian hospital in Dubai.
Asghar Farshad, the former director, in a report outlined the plans executed in the hospital so far, the most prominent of which was to draw up the hospital's three-year plan.
He further referred to improvement of clinical services in the hospital, employment of high quality working force, promotion of hospital's expert and urgency wards, and a 30-percent increase in the number of patients admitted to the hospital compared with the number last year as the other plans achieved during the last two years.
Hamidreza Farshchi, the new hospital director, stated that during last year more than 600 thousands patients had referred to the Iranian hospital indicating hard efforts exerted by the previous hospital authorities.
He cited the daily 1,500 patients reference to Iranian clinics in Dubai, and added that at the present 32 percent of medical services in Dubai are being provided by the Iranian hospital.
The 36th anniversary of the Iranian hospital foundation in Dubai held in the presence of the Supreme Leader's representative, Iran's ambassador, and consul general in the UAE.
The special envoy of U.A.E.'s president and Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid al-Maktoum the country's prime minister and Dubai's governor also attended the ceremony.
