Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA-Minister of Roads and Transportation Mohammad Rahmati on Wednesday described US government's agreement to provide spare parts and maintenance for Iranian passenger airplanes as a normal and logical move.
Rahmati added that embargo on Iran's aviation industry was a mistake which the US had realized.
Rahmati described embargo on sections which involve human lives as unjustified.
According to the US State Department, Washington has agreed with the US Federal Aviation Agency's request to provide spare parts and maintenance for Iran's Airbus planes.
The minister added that providing spare parts for Iran's passenger airplanes is considered a regular process in the global air transportation industry.
Hosseini: US only to provide Iran with limited Airbus parts
Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said in Tehran on Wednesday that the United States is to provide Iran with a very limited number of Airbus parts.
He called the move as quite 'ordinary'.
Hosseini made the remarks in reaction to the recent reports claiming that US is to provide Iran with Airbus parts.
Speaking to IRNA, he said from early days of the Islamic Revolution, the US imposed sanction on Boeing and Airbus along with the European-made passenger planes for Iranian market.
"The Americans have declared that they would provide us with a limited number of spare parts for passenger planes while the overhaul and repair would be conducted in a third country," he said.
US imposed sanction against Iran was an 'unjust and inhuman' move, he said.
Referring to recent bill in US congress on extension of Iran's sanction for another five years, he said the move is not new as it has been in force for the past 27 years.
