Zahedan, Sistan-o-Balouchestan Prov, Oct 18, IRNA-A police official said here that four armed bandits were arrested en-route Rigan-Kousha Road in Kerman Province Monday morning.
General Mohammad-Javad Esna-Ashari added in his interview with IRNA, "Combatants of Brigade 102 of Kerman's Nasr Barracks received the news on a road blockage in the course of an armed robbery in early morning hours of Monday en route Rigan-Kousha Road and were dispatched to the region to confront the engaged bandits." He added, "The officers of that brigade noticed two suspicious motorcycles during their patrol and ordered them to freeze." General Esna-Ashari said,
"The cyclists, four armed bandits, did not heed that order, but were shortly after that arrested. They had a Klashnikov automatic weapon, and a waist colt, as well as a mobile phone with which they had instantly tried to inform their other gang members to disperse from the region."
The police official said, "Officers of Mersad Checkpoint, too, while inspecting a Volvo trailer en-route Chabahar-Tehran freeway, found 88 kgs and 650 grams of opium, as well as 10 kgs and 390 grams of hashish that had been hidden inside the driver's cabin." He said, "At another checkpoint our forces confiscated 230 grams of opium from a Mercedes truck en-route Bam-Isfahan."
