Announcing this news, Ali Karnama, director of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department of Kerman province said that an exhibition will be held by active tourism agencies and tour guiders alongside the upcoming summit on Jiroft. Live performance of Jiroft's folk music will be another program during the January event in Tehran.

Halil Rud historical site, located near the present city of Jiroft in Kerman province, was one of the first places where civilization and urbanization were established. Archeologists and experts have so far been able to identify 120 historical sites on the 400-kilometer basin of Halil Rud River. The mass of discoveries made in the past few years in Jiroft indicate that the art of carving in this historical site was much more developed than that of the Sumerian civilization which is believed to be the most ancient civilization of the world.

According to Karnama, several projects have been planned to be performed in Kerman province to promote the tourism facilities in this province in order to attract more tourists to this historic province.

According to the latest decisions, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, India, and the United Arab Emirates have been selected as the main target countries in which tourism attractions of Kerman province will be advertised.
