Former Iranian MP and reformist Ali-Akbar Mussavi Khoini has been released on bail, according to Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA). Khoini was arrested during a women's rights gathering on June 12 in Tehran (see Iranian Police Forcibly Disperse Women's Rights Protest In Tehran)
According to ISNA (see report in Persian), Khoini's lawyer, Mohammad Sharif, said that Khoini was released on October 21 on $163,000 bail.
Khoini was also represented by Shirin Ebadi, the Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
Upon release from prision, Khoini dismissed all charges against him and said that his arrest was prompted by his activities as a Tehran MP, participation in student movement, involvement in tracking unlawful arrests, ... He then thanked all the groups and people who actively worked to gain his release.
