Tehran, Oct 23, IRNA-The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced Monday a three-day holiday in Iran on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr marking the end of the holy month of Ramazan.
The Supreme Leader's Office declared on Monday that Tuesday is the Eid-al Fitr.
"The crescent of the next lunar month has been sighted and felicitations to all Muslims on Eid al-Fitr. May God accepts your prayers during the holy month of Ramazan," said the office in a statement.
In another statement released by Deputy Government Spokesman, it was said that the cabinet of ministers has decided to announce Wednesday and Thursday as official holiday in Iran.
Since Friday is the weekend holiday in Iran, Iranians can enjoy a four-day holiday after one month of fasting and praying during the holy month of Ramazan.
