Tehran, Oct 24, IRNA-Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said in Tehran on Tuesday that recourse to identity, reliance on God, unity, resistance, and vigilance are the keys to dignity and strength of Muslims.
A large groups of people took part in the Eid-ul-Fitr congregational prayers, led by Khamenei at Tehran's Mossalla prayers ground on Tuesday.
The worshipers braved rainfall and the cloudy weather to attend the prayers after a month-long fasting.
"The only way for dignity and power of Muslims is recourse to identity, reliance on God, unity, resistance and vigilance," said the Supreme Leader in a keynote speech to a group of officials.
Addressing a group of senior Iranian officials, ambassadors of Islamic states in Tehran and a group of people from different walks of life on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a festival marking end of the holy month of Ramadhan, Ayatollah Khamenei said, Eid-ul-Fitr is a day belonging to Muslim Ummah.
The Supreme Leader then touched on humiliation and backwardness of Muslims and their marginalization for long years, and said Muslim Ummah are accountable for the problems due to ample reasons, including giving preference to personal interests.
"Today, Muslims are awakened, getting aware of their identity; therefore, the awakening should be endeared and lead it in the right course," he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei advised the audience to rely on God Almighty as the key to divine assistance.
"The key to divine assistance is reliance on God but the rerequisites for the assistance are action, non-leniency, defiance of personal desires and non-denial of interests of Muslim Ummah," the Supreme Leader announced.
