Iranian researcher develops new method for preparation of metal nanoparticals

TEHRAN, Oct.28 (ISNA)-An Iranian researcher succeeded in proposing a new method for the preparation of metal nanoparticals. The Iranian Scientist who is also an associate member of Kashan University of Iran and a researcher of the Electro Chemistry group of Liverpool University in Britain, Dr. Fakhroddin Mirkhalaf succeeded in proposing this method.

Dr. Fakhroddin Mirkhalaf

"In the new method the direct bond of metal-carbon is conveyed and we have tested the authenticity of this method from various aspects and for the first time in the world it has been reported in the famous scientific magazine of Journal of the American Chemical Society," stated Dr. Mirkhalaf.

"This is based on the information of the metal-carbon bonds after reduction of the diazonium derivative of the capping ligand. The particles are very stable due to the strong metal-ligand covalent bond," he added.

"These compounds are capable of making a strong and stable bond in reaction to metal surfaces and thus various functional groups can be stabilized on solid surfaces," he concluded.
