Tokyo, Sept 4, IRNA-Spokesman for Inpex, Japan's International Oil Exploration Company, Kazuya Honda, on Monday once more underlined the will of his company to continue working on Azadegan oil field project.
He told IRNA that the contract of the project was signed by Inpex and the Iranian partner in 2004, after which preliminary measures were taken to prepare the grounds for working on the major project, namely development of Azadegan oil field.
"Some reports are occasionally released on Azadegan oil field by some news media, but these are not originally issued by Inpex.
"Inpex has not recently disseminated any new information on the project," said Honda.
According to an agreement signed between Japanese Inpex and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in 2004, 75 percent of Azadegan oil field exploitation right has been ceded to Inpex and Japan's government is one of its major shareholders.
Azadegan oil field in southern Iran with about 26 billion barrels of oil reserve is one of the world's largest oil fields.
