Beirut, Sept 5, IRNA-Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad-Reza Sheibani said here Monday that Iran has donated 40 generators to Lebanon.
Sheibani gave the information after a meeting with Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water Mohammed Fneish.
The ambassador said the donation was made within the framework of of the two countries' cooperation and to meet an urgent need of the war-stricken country.
Many cities and villages of Lebanon are still without electricity after power stations were bombed during the 34-day war.
The ambassador expressed Iran's readiness to meet other needs of Lebanon's Ministry of Energy and Water.
The generators have the capacity to generate 156-200 kilowatts of electricity and were handed over to Beirut by the Red Crescent Society of Iran and Imam Khomeini Relief Committee.
