TEHRAN, Sept. 9 (Mehr News Agency) - Although the U.S. Administration inspired by political motives has run some Iranology circles, their activities are unpleasant to the government, the U.S.-based Iranian researcher and Iranologist Turaj Daryaii said Friday.
"The Iranology officials are conducting just scientific studies and despite the administration's displeasure have promoted the Iranian culture in the U.S.
"Iranologists' studies and activities have increased in the U.S. and other countries in the past 10 years as some well-to-do Iranians have come to the U.S. and set up Iranology centers.
"Today, Iranology in the U.S. is not limited to the study of Persian language as Persian literature and music have also been taken into account."
Daryaii added a great yearning for studying different states is felt in the U.S. and such a strong desire has nothing to do with political issues.
The U.S. Administration is not going to review its Iran policies, said the author adding Iranologists do not care about it.
"I teach the world's history to the M.A. students. Unlike the past, a chapter of the book is about Iran.
"If U.S. students and academic staff get true information about Iran, their thoughts will change and their wrong image of Iran will be cleared.
"In the recent years, Iran's cinema has greatly helped promote the country's culture in the U.S. Iranologists and other experts have also played effective roles in changing the Americans' views toward Iran."
