Baghdad, Sept 9, IRNA-Spokesman of Iraqi government said Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will start a two-day visit to Iran on Monday.
Ali al-Dabagh announced Saturday that the two-day visit is for expansion of the political and security relations between the two countries.
He added al-Maleki's visit is a follow-up of last week's trip of an Iraqi delagation headed by Iraq's deputy prime minister Barham Salih to Iran.
Barham Salih and his high ranking delelgation comprising of ministers as well as political, security and economic officails met and conferred with Iranian officials.
This is the first visit of al-Maliki to Tehran since he has assumed the post of Iraq's prime minister.
