About Payvand and IFWC
The Payvand Cultural School (PCS) and The Iranian Federated Women's Club (IFWC) are local, non-profit, nonpolitical, and non-religious organizations whose missions are to integrate and empower the Iranian community, and to promote arts and culture by bringing educational services, scholarships, and cultural activities to Bay Area communities. The Payvand Cultural School was established in 1995; The Iranian Federated Women's Club in 1996. Both organizations qualify for 501-3 nonprofit federal tax status that allows for the disbursement of scholarship programs and funds.
The Payvand Cultural School was founded on our belief that Iranian American youth need to participate in a healthy community that fosters Iranian traditions, heritage, and language, while still encouraging successful American cultural integration. PCS provides educational instruction and opportunities for social interaction in Farsi, and also teaches traditional Iranian music and dance. PCS also teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults. Our school is run by experienced teachers and dedicated volunteers.
