Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale hit the outskirts of the city of Tabas in the southeastern province of Yazd on Sunday.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 14:00 hours local time (10:30 hrs GMT).
The quake was epicentered in an area located at 56.89 degrees longitude and 33.47 degrees latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it lies on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
