A Walk in Darakeh

By Syma Sayyah, Tehran

Throughout the Norouz holidays we hoped for fine weather in vain. The sun hardly ever came out and when it did on rare occasions it was for a very short time. For two whole days it poured and we were sitting close to the radiators and wondering what had happened to Spring.

One day we decided that no matter what we would go to Darakeh and stretch our legs and remember the good old days when I used to hike for hours and knew many spots off the main trail even though they were difficult to get to.

Despite the clouds and rain the day before, there were many people there. We had a good and enjoyable walk and managed to buy some nice bread and other things from the village and get back to the car before it started to rain again.

We have a few shots for you to share from our walk up the trail in Darakeh.

Jaye shoma khali (we missed you)
