TEHRAN, April 14 (Mehr News Agency) -- Nine hundred plays were submitted to the 6th National Women's Theater Festival, the festival's public relations office announced on Saturday.
The secretariat has received 748 texts for stage plays, 100 for street theater, and 52 for puppet shows, it noted.
A total of 572 works from Tehran and 328 from Mashhad, Isfahan, Karaj, Rasht, Bushehr, and other cities have been submitted. Moreover, foreign troupes from France, Germany, India, Iraq, and Afghanistan have also applied.
Mohammad Charmshir submitted 14 plays, followed by Chista Yasrebi (13), and Farhad Ershad (10). Mohammad Rahmanian, Gholamhossein Saedi, Tala Motazedi, Saeid Tashakori, Alireza Hanifi, Mahmud Nazeri, and Naghmeh Samini also submitted many works.
Veteran directors are participating in this event, such as Qotbeddin Sadeqi, Davud Fat'halibeigi, Mahbubeh Bayat, Farhad Sharifi, Siamak Ehsaii, Mohammad Rezaii-Rad, Hassan Majuni, Katayun Feiz-Marandi and Shohreh Soltani in the stage section, and Maryam Sa'adat, Azadeh Purmokhtar, Ali Pakdast and Maryam Mo'ini in the puppet show section.
The 6th round of the festival will be held from July 6 to 14.
