An Iranian nuclear company on Sunday invited domestic and foreign companies and contractors to design, supply equipment and construct two nuclear power plants in the southern city of Bushehr.
Deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ahmad Fayyaz-Bakhsh made the remark while speaking to reporters.
"The company of producing and developing nuclear energy in Iran offers tenders for the construction of two nuclear power plants with the capacity of 1,000 to 1,600 megawatts in Bushehr," Fayyaz-Bakhsh said.
The AEOI official said that major international contractors have been informed of the tenders, adding that Asian and European companies have expressed interest.
Answering a question on whether US companies could attend the tenders, he said, "Any company interested in the issue, can participate in the tenders."
Iranian companies will be guaranteed a 36-percent stake in each tender, he explained.
