Tehran, April 14, IRNA - Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education announced on Saturday the production of Pegilated Interferon medicine by Iranian researchers. The medicine is used for promoting body immunity system against chronic deceases.

Kamran Baqeri-Lankarani, who was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the information site of the ministry's Food and Medicine Department, said that local researchers have begun the production of Pegilated Interferon.

He added its production is at the laboratory phase and this has proved effective.

Baqeri Lankarani also noted in the meeting of officials and experts of Department of Food and Medicine that the drug will be marketed after passing subsequent processes, registration and approval.

The minister added that Iranian researchers have succeeded in the production of medicine using the bio-technology process.

According to Baqeri-Lankarani, by producing various drugs, Iranian researchers have in recent years made remarkable steps in the medicine industry.
