TEHRAN, April 18 (Mehr News Agency) -- The Iranian Army will "cut off the hands of any invader", President Mahmud Ahmadinejad said in Tehran on Wednesday. Iran will never oppress any country but will also never tolerate being oppressed, Ahmadinejad stated in a speech at a military parade commemorating Army Day.
The Iranian nation is opposed to injustice anywhere in the world, he added.
The Islamic Republic's Army has a defensive orientation, not an offensive one, and is totally prepared to carry out its missions, he said.
"Our nation favors peace and stability in the entire world, and we seek to establish friendly relations with all countries, except the artificial Zionist regime," he added.
Despite the UN sanctions on Iran's defense industries that were imposed on the country through the influence of certain powers, "our army has managed to meet all its needs," the president stated.
The Islamic Republic's Army is a force for safeguarding Iran's security and establishing peace, friendship, and security in the Middle East, he said.
