TEHRAN, April 18 (Mehr News Agency) -- The director of the Center for the Study of Sadi, Kurosh Kamali Sarvestani, has given details about the program that will take place in Shiraz on April 21, which is Sadi National Day.
He noted that each year specific aspects of the poet are chosen for discussion, and this year the focus will be on his thoughts, character, and language.
The ceremony will be held at Sadi's tomb beginning with the casting of flowers on his grave.
"Several experts on Sadi, including Gholam-Hossein Ebrahimi Dinani, Zia Movahhed, Asghar Dadbeh, Mohsen Jafari, and Saeid Hamidian, are to review the lifestyle of the poet," Kamali Sarvestani added.
During the programme tribute will be paid to the Sadi expert Mazaher Mosaffa, Kamali Sarvestani said, remarking that Mosaffa had published his correction of the versions of Sadi's works in 1960, and that it was republished in 2004 by Rozaneh Publications.
Other events lined up for the occasion include the publication of Sadi's "Gulistan" (The Rose Garden) and "Bustan" (The Orchard) by Hermes Publications, and the printing of postcards and posters.
The agenda for Sadi National Day includes paying tribute to Hermes Publications for its special attention in the publication of Sadi's works, a session held in Tehran's Book City on satire in Sadi's works, and 'Sadi's night' which will be held in the Iranian Artists' Forum in Tehran.
