Ardabil to Host Nomad Festival
The festival of nomad’s immigration will be held in
Ardabil province, northwestern Iran, with presence of 32 nomad tribes from
Ardabil and 8 other Iranian provinces.
Tehran, 18 April 2007 (CHN) – The
festival of nomad’s immigration will be held in Ja’far Abad region in city of
Moghan in Ardabil province during 9-10 of May 2007.
Announcing this news, Masoud Alavian Sadr, head of
the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department of Ardabil province told CHN: “32
ethnic groups from Ardabil province and 8 other Iranian provinces will
participate in this event.”
Organizing nomad’s handicraft exhibition, horse and
camel riding, and folk wrestling are among the programs during this
Ardabil province is the origin of a number of
Iranian nomads, such as Shahsavan ethnic troup.
This 2-day festival will give the chance to
visitors to experience living among nomads.
