Caracas, April 24, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki wound up his week-long visit to Latin American states and left Havana, Cuba, for Tehran Monday night.
Mottaki's Latin American tour, took him to Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba, where he held talks with senior officials of the three states on issues of mutual interest and the latest international developments.
The Iranian minister was scheduled to visit Caracas, Venezuela, after his Cuba visit, but informed sources said his departure for Tehran took place one day ahead of the schedule to get ready for a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshiyar Zebari.
Zebari is scheduled to arrive in Tehran on Wednesday to brief Mottaki on the upcoming meeting of Iraqi neighboring states to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on May 3-4.
Five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- Russia, China, France, Britain and the US -- plus Germany, Japan and Canada will also attend the meeting.
In a joint press conference with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro Moros, Mottaki said Iran's presence or non-presence in Sharm el-Sheikh meeting depended on his meeting with Zebari.
