TEHRAN, April 24 (Mehr News Agency) -- Based on the preliminary figures released by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the country's economic growth in the first nine months of the past Iranian calendar year 1385 (ended March 20, 2007) stood at 5.3 percent.
Under the provisions of Iran's Fourth Five-Year Development Plan (2005-2010), a growth target of 7.4 percent had been set for the past year while the productivity share of the factors contributing to the growth in the gross domestic product (GDP) equaled to 31.3 percent.
Economic growth in the first nine months of the Iranian year 1384 (2005-2006) stood at 5.5 percent.
The growth in the country's GDP (excluding oil) during the first nine months of 1384 dropped from 6.1 percent to 5.7 percent in the same period in 1385.
