Canadian World Walker For Peace Arrives in Iran

Astara, Gilan prov., Aug 2, IRNA - Well-known Canadian tourist Jean Beliveau who is to travel around the globe on foot crossed Astara border into Iran on Thursday.

The Canadian tourist began his ten-year long tour around the world on October 8, 2000.

Jean Beliveau's mission is to promote peace and non-violence for children throughout the world.

Beliveau is to walk around the world and only has one tricycle to carry its belongings and foodstuff.

He initiated his trip from North America and passed through South America and Europe and arrived in Iran via Azerbaijan border.

The Canadian tourist is to pass through Iranian cities en route to Pakistan's border.

His mission is to end by the year 2010 which has been designated as the "International Decade for Culture of World Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World".

He has dedicated his life to show kindness to children from different nationalities.
