Judicial units should be established for Iranians abroad: Shahrudi
TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (Mehr News Agency
) -- Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmud Hashemi Shahrudi proposed here on Thursday that "judicial units" should be established in Iranian embassies in other countries.
Judicial units can be established in the countries which host a large number of Iranians, and some judges can be appointed to solve the problems of Iranian nationals residing in foreign countries, Shahrudi stated in a meeting with Iranian envoys to foreign countries.
Many Islamic countries have shown keen interest in sharing the experiences of Iran's judicial system because no country has tried as much as the Islamic Republic to adjust its system to Islamic law, he stated.
Despite all challenges and accusations against Islam and Iran, "we were able to present a good picture of Islamic legal system to the world," he noted.
