Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Saturday that given a large number of cultural and historical sites, Iran is among top 10 top countries in terms of tourist attractions.
Mottaki made the remarks while addressing the 'First International Seminar on Investment Opportunities in Iran's Tourism Industry', adding that the country enjoys various attractions appealing to foreign tourists of different backgrounds and tastes.
Pointing to the research grounds for scientists in Iran, he said that cultural heritage representing an ancient civilization, valuable historical and religious sites dating back to before and after the advent of Islam, climate diversity, unique environment in north and south of the country...etc are rarely seen anywhere in the world.
The foreign minister also told the audience representing 40 countries that given its political and economic stability as well as technical and engineering potentials, Iran has prepared appropriate rounds for domestic and foreign investors to strengthen the infrastructures of tourism industry.
"Iran calls for establishment of peace, security, stability and justice in the region and the world and for interaction with all nations in cultural, political and economic fields based on mutual interests and free from hegemony and bullying," he added.
The Foreign Ministry has tried to pave the way for foreign investment in Iran by encouraging foreign investors and companies to held establish infrastructures in tourism industry, Mottaki noted.
The First International Seminar on Investment Opportunities in Iran's Tourism Industry is being held in the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Conference Hall in Tehran from August 25-26.
