Tehran, Aug 26, IRNA - Production line of 2,000-pound smart bombs, Qased (harbinger), and four-part production line of low-caliber piercing bullets, Saqeb (meteor) were commissioned at Tehran defense industries on Sunday.

Minister of Defense and Logistics of the Armed Forces Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said in the inaugural ceremony that Iranian defense doctrine has focused on multi-lateral defense and the principle of deterrence.

He said that all stages of research studies, design and production of the 2,000-pound smart bombs have been carried out by the experts of the Ministry.

Mohammad Najjar said that 75 percent of materials for the smart bomb has been provided by the Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Armed Forces and 25 percent by the private sector.

He said that the West's economic sanctions on Iran has not been effective and rather has encouraged Iranian experts to work hard for the country's self-sufficiency.

"Production of the smart bomb indicated that Iranian defense capability has made an eye-catching progress in light of the designing and manufacturing expertise."

He said that the media imperialism especially the Israeli and US media propaganda machines introduce Iranian defense capability as a threat to other nations in the region, whereas, Iran poses no threat to its neighbors and Iran serves peace, stability and sustainable security in the region.

Mohammad Najjar said that the Middle East nations are aware of goals of the global arrogance and regard Iran as a bastion vis-a-vis the Western powers.
