The Azerbaijan Republic is slated to set up the statue of the famous
Iranian epic poet, Nezami of Ganja in the Houston Park in
Texas.

Head of Baku Art Association, Akhundova, has announced
that the construction of the statue will start as soon as the mayor of Baku
agrees, ISNA news agency reported.
"The plan has been explained to him
during a meeting but there has not yet been any answer," Akhundova
said.

Noting that the statue will be located in the Houston Park, Akhundova
added, "There are many statues of international luminaries in this park".
Nezami of Ganja (1141-1209 AD) is considered the greatest romantic epic
poet in Persian literature who brought a colloquial and realistic style to the
Persian epic.
