Moscow, Dec 13, IRNA - Iran and Russia on Thursday signed five agreements on expansion of cooperation in various fields of economy and commerce. The agreements were signed by the visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Russia's Atomic Energy Chief Sergei Kiriyenko, co-chairing the 7th session of Iran-Russia Joint Economic and Commerce Commission, held in Moscow.
Mottaki and Kiriyenko also inked the protocol of the commission.
Iranian and Russian experts have held sessions within the framework of Commerce, Energy and Transportation Committees since Tuesday to draft the agreements.
Addressing the session, Kiriyenko stressed the necessity to expand bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
He termed as "very important" the recent visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Iran, saying it showed Russian resolve to expand relations with Iran.
Mottaki arrived in Moscow Thursday to attend the commission.
Prospects for bilateral cooperation in various fields and avenues to develop economic ties and enhance level of trade are on agenda of the commission.
The sixth session of Iran-Russia Joint Economic and Commerce Commission was held in Tehran last December.
