Press TV - LUKOIL resumes its operations in an Iranian oil field in defiance of the US attempts to prevent foreign firms' activities in the country.
"LUKOIL, as represented by LUKOIL Overseas, is continuing work at the Anaran oil block," a statement published by the Russian Industry and Energy Ministry said.
The project was frozen in October due to a ban imposed by the US State Department, prohibiting investments of over $20 million in Iran's energy projects.
Iran and Russia held a joint economic conference last week in Moscow, in which Russian Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky and Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Hossein Nogrekar-Shirazi agreed that LUKOIL Overseas would continue its research work at two other Iranian fields - Moghan and Laleh.
The Anaran oil field was discovered by LUKOIL in December 2005.
