Tehran, Dec 22, IRNA - Government spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham, said on Saturday that Tehran had no information confirming that a former American agent went missing in Iran.
Speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, the spokesman said that the government had no information proving that Robert Levinson a former FBI agent had gone missing while on a visit to the Persian Gulf island of Kish in southern Iran.
Elham made the remarks in response to a question whether the Iranian government would provide Levinson's wife, Christine, with some information on his fate.
Mrs Levinson has reportedly arrived in Iran recently to follow up her husband's fate.
"If a new information is given to us on this matter, we will follow up the case," Elham said.
