Tehran,
Dec 25, IRNA - Iran's Judiciary Spokesman Alireza Jamshidi said on Tuesday that
it is among the responsibilities of the judge seeing to the Mousavian case to
decide whether to hold a public court session or not.
Minister of Justice Gholam Hossein Elham said on Wednesday that member of the
negotiating team with the European Union Hossein Mousavian has not been
acquitted yet.
Elham said that no verdict on Mousavian's case has been finalized, adding that
some people misunderstood the former announcement.
Mousavian was charged with delivering a document to the British Embassy in the
context of Iranian nuclear talks with European states.
The press reports said last week that Mousavian was cleared of the charge. But
Elham said that the announcement was not right and some people misunderstood
what was going on.
He said that Mousavian's court hearing should be made public and the government
supports impartial trial of the defendant.
The charge against the former member of Iranian negotiating team was raised by
the Information Ministry.
Jamshidi expressed the hope that Mousavian's interrogator would voices his views
on the case as soon as possible.
