TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (Mehr News Agency) – Iran has witnessed a 70 percent drop in saffron exports in the first seven months of the current year (started March 21), said the head of the Saffron Exports Promotion Fund here on Saturday.
Talking to MNA, Ali Shariati-Moqaddam added that exports of saffron raw material threaten Iran's presence in international markets.
He assured that saffron export in small packages will strengthen Iran's position in global markets, adding only 15-20 percent of Khorassan Province's saffron is exported in packages.
