TEHRAN, Feb. 4 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines (ICCIM) established a council here to promote women economic activists' activities, the ICCIM reported Saturday.
The council officially started work in a bid to boost women's economic activities and presence in the international trade arena that helps them exchange views with their counterparts in Muslim countries.
The council also aims at promoting women's status in economic and commercial fields, setting up a center for economic consultation and education, and holding workshops for training modern trade.
The setup of trade, industrial, transportation, communication, mine, agriculture, and tourism working groups, creation of a website, and publications of a periodical for businesswomen are among other objectives of the council.
Shabnam Bahrami, a woman expert in economic and communication sectors, is the manager of the council.
