Iranians mainly take advantage of Interment as pastime

Tehran, Feb 3, Taliya News - Managing Director of an ISP said here Tuesday, "Our users mainly take advantage of the Internet's recreational possibilities for which high bandwidth is not necessary, so the present dialup systems are OK for the purpose.

Reza Mazare'ie added in an interview with ISNA, "We face no problems regarding the quantity of our bandwidth," reiterating, "The major problem in that regards is the band quality, because the capacities ae unfortunately not fully employed."

He said, "We get the bandwidth from the TCI, but its quality is unfortunately very low. Therefore, the first thing we have to do in that respect is to improve the country's gateway for the purpose so that the ISPs, too, that get services through it would be able to offer satisfactory services."

According to him, the country's gateways are in need of appropriate and sufficient backup paths so that the ISPs wont face problems and be able to make up for the disconnections through those paths in time.

Mazare'ie emphasized that transparency in that field is a necessity, adding, "By devising the required laws in the field the path for certain figures' rent seeking would be blocked and many problems with which our country is faced regarding the bandwidth would be solved."
