TEHRAN, Feb. 6 (Mehr News Agency) -- The winners of the 24th edition of the Book of the Year of the Islamic Republic of Iran competition were honored during a ceremony on Monday at Tehran's Vahdat Hall.
The jury praised "Persian Medical Glossary" compiled by Fatemeh Rahadust, "List of Manuscripts of the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia" by Ahmad Monzavi, and "Encyclopedia of Aesthetics" translated by Manuchehr Sanei-Darrebidi in the dictionary section.
In the Islamic philosophy section, scholar Gholamhossein Ebrahimi-Dinani was awarded for the book "Glitter of Ibn Roshd in Peripatetic Wisdom" while Abdolkarim Rashidian's "Husserl, in the Heart of His Works" and Ali Afzali's "Protests and Answers of Descartes" were praised in the Western philosophy section.
In the Islamic studies section, the jury selected "Origins and Evolution of Islamic Law" written by Wael B. Hallaq, "The Reflective Heart: Discovering Spiritual Intelligence in Ibn Arabi's Meccan Illuminations" by James Winston Morris, and "The Political Thought of Ayatollah Mortaza Motahhari" by Mahmud T. Davari.
The winners of the Prophet Muhammad (S) ethic section include "The Miraculous Journey of Mahomet" by Marie-Rose Seguy, "Muhammad (S) in Europe" by Minou Reeves, and "The Biography of Muhammad (S)" by Harald Motzki.
"List of Persian Manuscripts of Library of Kazan State University" written by Arslanova Alsu Ajratovna, "The Art of Persian Music" by Jean During, and "Dialogues Between Cultures: India and Iran" by Atul Kumar Sinha and Abhay Kumar Singh are some of the winners in the Iranian studies section.

Art section: "Voice and Expression for Actor" written by Davud Daneshvar, "How Do Designers Think?" translated by Hamid Nadimi, and "A Little Shadow" written by Ahmad Bigdelli
History section: "A Collection of Greeks and Barbarians: Another Side of History" written by Amir-Mehdi Badi'
Children section: "Watching the Sun" written by Mohammad-Taqi Ekhtiari and "Autumn in Train" by Mohammad-Kazem Mazinani
